Lights, Camera, Safety! Video Contest
Deadline: Monday, April 10

Star in the City’s next "How To" video about Keeping Safe and help us promote safety throughout your community! As part of the Don’t Make It Easy program, the City is asking for your help and participation to continue raising awareness about simple steps you can take to keep safe. Lake Forest residents are invited to record and submit a video of them sharing safety tips for a chance to be featured in this upcoming safety video. Participant videos who are selected will be entered into a raffle drawing for a chance to win a Wireless Security Camera and other unique safety prizes! Winners will be notified on Monday, April 17.

Rules and Submission Guidelines:

  •  Video files must be sent to chon@lakeforestca.gov (Dropbox, transferbigfiles.com, or other file sharing websites are ideal) or dropped off at City Hall, 2nd floor by Monday, April 10.
  • Participants must provide their first and last names and the number of years as a Lake Forest resident.
  • Maximum video length is 15 seconds. The City reserves the right to modify the video as appropriate.
  • Video files must be in the highest quality possible (1080p is ideal). Accepted file formats are .mov, .wmv, .avi, .mp4, and mpeg.
  • Videos must not contain any text, logos, or background music.

Park 'n Leash Check In Sweepstakes
Deadline: Monday, April 10



As part of the Dogs on Leashes campaign, we want to see you visit any one of the City’s 31 parks, snap a picture of your dog on a leash, and check in on the City’s Facebook page with (www.facebook.com/lakeforestca). When you check in, make sure you upload the picture of your dog and tag it with #RockTheLeashLF. Three winners will be selected to win a prize! This contest is intended to educate, encourage, and raise awareness of dog leash laws. All dogs must be on a leash (no longer than 6') when frequenting any city park. It's the law!

Sportswriter Contest
Deadline: Monday, May 22

If you have a passion for a particular sport, here’s your chance to share it with the community. Selected articles will be published in future editions of The Leaflet. In 300 words or less, submit an article to chon@lakeforestca.gov about any sports-related topic. From writing about a popular sport, to describing plays, mind blowing games, the atmosphere, fans, or any other sports angle, there’s plenty to write about.

Say It and Obey It Leash Tips Contest
Deadline: Tuesday, May 30



As part of the Dogs on Leashes campaign, community members are encouraged to share a tip on how to train or manage their dog to be on a leash. Tips can be emailed to chon@lakeforestca.gov and will be compiled to be published in the July/August Leaflet magazine. This contest is intended to educate, encourage, and raise awareness of dog leash laws. All dogs must be on a  leash (no longer than 6') when frequenting any city park. It's the law!

Rock the Leash Photo Contest
