If you love history and learning about days past, you should make plans to visit El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest on Saturday, April 21st between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
El Toro Memorial Park, located at 25751 Trabuco Road, will be offering free, guided historical tours where the past will really come alive. Travel back and forth in time and meet an assortment of athletes, business owners, soldiers, early pioneers, inventors, artists, and common, every-day laborers who all played a role in the development of Orange County and the nation. At the end of the tour, free souvenir programs will be available while supplies last recapping the historical facts mentioned on the tour.
Visitors can also meet award-winning writer Michael Thomas Barry, author of Final Resting Places – Orange County’s Dead & Famous who will be on hand with copies of his book. The book highlights Orange County burial locations and 200 life stories of famous athletes, politicians, entertainment legends, Orange County founders, and more.
This is a walking tour, and while most of the walk will be on paved surfaces, the beginning of the tour will require attendees to walk over the lawn and travel up one section of stairs. Those who have difficulty walking or who require the assistance of a wheelchair or scooter may need to bypass the first two stops. Tours will take place rain or shine, so attendees should dress for the weather. To reserve a tour time, or for more information, please contact El Toro Memorial Park at (949) 951-8244.
